Article note: In retrospect, Reader was a "Tech giant does the right thing in spite of itself" moment. Content-focused, user-curated, open and interoperable. So of course it had to die. And this as we watch, almost exactly a decade later, Twitter and Reddit doing their damnedest to alienate their users.
