Weird, but I guess it makes sense in a way, license-free use of MIPS cores for low end high volume integrated stuff might be a realistic market?
Or, perhaps more likely, because MIPS has largely pivoted to designing RISC-V IP and GlobalFoundaries is interested in getting in on that market, which might be heating up?
