Article note: This is petty rentseeking that _can't_ end well.
The general "Keepting the proles from owning anything" aspect is repugnant, the "upcharging for functionality that doesn't add cost" aspect is repugnant... but the whole "incentivizing jailbreaking vehicles over petty shit" aspect is _also_ a bad thing.
