{"id":75738,"date":"2025-02-09T12:51:03","date_gmt":"2025-02-09T17:51:03","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/pappp.net\/?p=75738"},"modified":"2025-02-09T12:51:03","modified_gmt":"2025-02-09T17:51:03","slug":"cheap-lock-box-is-cheap","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/pappp.net\/?p=75738","title":{"rendered":"Cheap Lock Box is Cheap"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>I regularly have this problem where I have hobbies for which the equipment should be locked up when unattended, and I pick locks as a hobby and work as a computer engineer, so I know how bogus most of the options for locking stuff up are. <br \/><br \/>I bought one of those little portable lockboxes (Specifically a &#8220;Amazon Basics Portable Security Case Lock Box Safe, Combination Lock, Large, Black&#8221; ASIN B077K3FJHC), 50% to have a more responsible storage option for some small items, and 50% to see how crap it is. <br \/><br \/>I knew what I was buying for $18, and it&#8217;s still a hilarious piece of junk, because the gates are visible from the top so you can decode it by sight: <\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1024\" height=\"768\" src=\"https:\/\/pappp.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/02\/CrappyLocboxDecode-1024x768.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-75743\" srcset=\"https:\/\/pappp.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/02\/CrappyLocboxDecode-1024x768.jpg 1024w, https:\/\/pappp.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/02\/CrappyLocboxDecode-300x225.jpg 300w, https:\/\/pappp.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/02\/CrappyLocboxDecode-768x576.jpg 768w, https:\/\/pappp.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/02\/CrappyLocboxDecode-1536x1152.jpg 1536w, https:\/\/pappp.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/02\/CrappyLocboxDecode.jpg 1920w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px\" \/><figcaption class=\"wp-element-caption\">Combination is set to &#8220;0,1,2&#8221; and the dials are turned to &#8220;0,9,2.&#8221;  Note that you can see a slot next to the wheel on 0 and 2 and not on 9?
