The Chromecast Audio <a href=\"https:\/\/arstechnica.com\/gadgets\/2019\/01\/google-kills-the-chromecast-audio\/\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" >was discontinued January 11<\/a>. YouTube annotations were <a href=\"https:\/\/support.google.com\/youtube\/answer\/2683267\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" >removed and deleted<\/a> January 15. Google Fiber <a href=\"https:\/\/arstechnica.com\/information-technology\/2019\/02\/google-fiber-exits-louisville-after-shoddy-installs-left-exposed-wires-in-roads\/\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" >packed up and left<\/a> a Fiber city on February 8. Android Things <a href=\"https:\/\/arstechnica.com\/gadgets\/2019\/02\/android-things-is-no-longer-for-things-focuses-on-smart-speakers-and-displays\/\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" >dropped IoT support<\/a>&nbsp;on February 13. Google's <a href=\"https:\/\/arstechnica.com\/gadgets\/2019\/03\/google-hardware-makes-cuts-to-laptop-and-tablet-development-cancels-products\/\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" >laptop and tablet division<\/a>&nbsp;was reportedly slashed on March 12.&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/arstechnica.com\/gadgets\/2018\/12\/google-promises-to-shut-down-two-of-its-seven-messaging-apps\/\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" >Google Allo<\/a> shut down on March 13. The \"Spotlight Stories\" VR studio&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/variety.com\/2019\/digital\/news\/google-spotlight-stories-shutting-down-1203163117\/\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" >closed its doors<\/a> on March 14.&nbsp;The goo.gl URL shortener&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/developers.googleblog.com\/2018\/03\/transitioning-google-url-shortener.html\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" >was cut off from new users<\/a>&nbsp;on March 30. Gmail's <a href=\"https:\/\/help.ifttt.com\/hc\/en-us\/articles\/360020249393-Important-update-about-Gmail-on-IFTTT\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" >IFTTT support<\/a> stopped working March 31.<\/p>\n<p>And today, April 2, we're having a Google Funeral double-header: both&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/arstechnica.com\/gadgets\/2019\/01\/google-shuts-down-april-2-all-data-will-be-deleted\/\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" >Google+<\/a>&nbsp;(for consumers)&nbsp;<em>and<\/em> <a href=\"https:\/\/arstechnica.com\/gadgets\/2018\/09\/google-kills-google-inbox\/\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" >Google Inbox<\/a>&nbsp;are being laid to rest. Later this year, Google Hangouts \"<a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/RonAmadeo\/status\/1070755806264610820\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" >Classic<\/a>\" will <a href=\"https:\/\/arstechnica.com\/gadgets\/2019\/01\/the-great-google-hangouts-shutdown-begins-october-2019\/\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" >start to wind down,<\/a>&nbsp;and somehow also scheduled for 2019 is Google Music's&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/arstechnica.com\/gadgets\/2018\/05\/youtube-music-will-replace-google-play-music-but-wont-kill-user-uploads\/\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" >\"migration\"<\/a> to YouTube Music, with the Google service being put on death row sometime afterward.<\/p>\n<p>We are 91 days into the year, and so far, Google is racking up an unprecedented body count.
