Last week, news broke that customers enrolled in GM's OnStar Smart Driver app <a href=\"https:\/\/arstechnica.com\/cars\/2024\/03\/car-makers-shady-data-sharing-takes-spotlight-in-gm-connected-car-scandal\/\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">have had their data shared with LexisNexis and Verisk<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Those data brokers in turn shared the information with insurance companies, resulting in some drivers finding it much harder or more expensive to obtain insurance.
