I love the future!\nProgrammers \/ Engineers: The most recent piece of technology I own is a printer from 2004 and I keep a loaded gun ready to shoot it if it ever makes an unexpected noise. \nreality.<\/div><p>This week&rsquo;s&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/arstechnica.com\/tech-policy\/2025\/10\/amazons-dns-problem-knocked-out-half-the-web-likely-costing-billions\/\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Amazon Web Services outage<\/a> had some people waking up on the wrong side of the bed.<\/p>\n<p>A Domain Name System (DNS) resolution problem affected AWS cloud hosting, resulting in an outage that impacted <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bbc.com\/news\/articles\/cev1en9077ro\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">more than 1,000<\/a> web-based products and services and millions of people.<\/p>\n<p>Perhaps one of the most avoidable breakdowns came via people&rsquo;s beds.
